QNA Participates in 'Little Employee' Initiative
Qatar News Agency (QNA) participated in the 'Little Employee' initiative organized by Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), member of the Qatar Foundation, by allocating a working day for school students from the age of 9-15 inside the institution where a parent or relative works.
QNA hosted a number of children of employees to learn about the nature of their work and to see the professional life of the employees in general, as well as to engage in some clerical, editorial or technical work at the Agency.
QNA's participation in the initiative comes from its belief in supporting creative and innovative ideas, as well as cooperating with various state institutions in achieving human development goals and investing in future generations in order to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.
The Little Employee initiative aims to enhance the role of the family as a key factor in determining an individual's professional identity. Through following up on the work of their parents or relatives in the professional environment, students learn the value of work and the basic concepts of professional life, which helps them in drawing a preliminary vision
of their future career milestones, and motivates them to work on planning their career path early and making educational decisions.
Through the initiative, QCDC seeks to give students the opportunity to explore the nature of real professional life, by helping a parent or relative in carrying out their work within the institution they are employed in.
QNA's participation provided a number of employees' children with the opportunity to witness the real work environment and learn some skills, in addition to enhancing the role of parents in guiding their children professionally and identifying through the initiative some of the professional options offered in the labor market and the skills necessary to follow a specific career path.Â
