80.6 pc of eligible population vaccinated.
The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) on Sunday announced that 92.3 percent of Qatar's eligible population have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 80.6 percent received two doses.
Most of the COVID-19 vaccines approved for use in Qatar have a two-dose regimen.
When it comes to the total population, 80.1 percent have received at least one dose and 69.9 percent received two doses, the ministry said.
As many as 20,381 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total doses given out so far to 4,252,387.
According to Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the chief medical advisor to the President of the United States, it may take close to 90 percent immunity to bring the virus to a halt — almost as much as is needed to stop a measles outbreak.
