Fauzia is first Saudi woman to work in waterproofing and thermal insulation

Fauziya said that she started work in a company specialized in the field of construction

Fauzia Al-Otaibi is the first Saudi woman working in the field of waterproofing and thermal insulation in the Kingdom. She is passionately in love with her work, saying that it was purely a coincidence that waterproofing and thermal insulation happened to be her profession.

Attending Annahar program on Al-Ekhbariya channel, Fauziya said that she started work in a company specialized in the field of construction, and then moved to work in the company’s waterproofing and thermal insulation department after knowing its importance.

According to Fauziya, her supervisory mission is not in the field as her job is to ensure the safety of the building and its fitness for waterproofing and thermal insulation work, and then the implementation phase of the technicians begins.

Regarding the social stigma toward woman doing such a work, Fauziya said that she suffered some sort of grim social view and also the reluctance on the part of a section of society accepting her doing this work.

However, she found great support from her family that motivated her to continue working in this field. “Also, this profession is not limited to a specific nationality in the Kingdom,” she pointed out.
