CEO of Qatar Foundation Visits New Green Lab at QF School
As Qatar Environment Day emphasizes the nation's focus on sustainability, students at a Qatar Foundation school have showcased their efforts to be green ambassadors to HE Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al-Thani.
The Qatar Academy Doha Green Lab has been created by converting a courtyard at the school, which is part of Qatar Foundation's Pre-University Education, into a learning environment where students grow vegetables and learn about biodiversity.
Through the pilot project, QF aims to inspire children and young people to drive sustainable change and be advocates for environmentally friendly habits, lifestyles, and actions.
Ahead of Qatar Environment Day, HE Sheikha Hind also visited the new Education City Micro-Farm, a gardening hub that is home to fruit trees, an indoor educational greenhouse, planting beds for public use, and ability friendly gardening opportunities; and the QF Employees' Wellbeing Garden within the 2015 building (QF Headquarters), a gardening and therapeutic space within the workplace where employees can grow plants and vegetables.
