Germany intends to supply more weapons to Ukraine.
Sources from the German Economy Ministry told German news agency (dpa) that the ministry had agreed to provide Ukraine with 2700 Strela anti-aircraft missiles.
The sources pointed out that these missiles are Soviet-made, as they are descended from the former stocks of the National People's Army of East Germany.
On Feb. 26, the German government announced that it would provide Ukraine with 1,000 missile launchers and 500 "Stinger" class surface-to-air missiles as soon as possible to help it confront the Russian military escalation.
Spokesman of the German government Steffen Hebestreit said in a statement that his country is providing Ukraine with weapons from the stocks of the German armed forces, adding that the Ukrainian armed forces will be supported with 1,000 anti-tank weapons and 500 Stinger surface-to-air missiles.
