The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in the State of Qatar, organized the 'Smurfs 65th Anniversary Exhibition', which allows people to know more about the Smurfs.
The exhibition, which will continue until May 17, presents original artwork created by Belgian cartoonist Pierre Culliford that shows the evolution of the Smurfs from their comic origins to their success in movies, TV shows, and video games.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium William Asselborn said the exhibition aims to present a number of educational values such as tolerance, respect for others and brotherhood, praising Katara's efforts in opening up to different cultures.
He pointed out that the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and a number of international organizations and institutions use the Smurfs characters to promote their lofty goals.
