Jordan’s armed forces said the Kingdom came under a missile attack originating from Iranian territory, with air defence systems responding to multiple ballistic missiles that entered Jordanian airspace.
According to a statement by the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army spokesperson, 13 ballistic missiles were detected over the Kingdom. Air defence units successfully intercepted and destroyed 10 of them, while three fell in remote locations away from populated areas.
The military said the response followed established operational procedures and confirmed that no injuries or loss of life were reported as a result of the incident.
Specialised teams were sent to locations where missile debris landed to secure the areas and take the necessary public-safety measures. Authorities urged residents not to approach, touch or move any unidentified objects or debris and to immediately report such findings to the competent authorities.
The Jordan Armed Forces also called on the public to avoid sharing unverified information and to rely on official channels for updates.
The military said its units, surveillance systems and air defence capabilities remain on high alert and continue operating around the clock to protect the Kingdom’s security, its citizens and the sovereignty of its airspace.
The armed forces added that developments are being monitored continuously and that any information requiring public attention will be announced through official channels.
