First Manned Mission into Space

India on Friday announced its intention to send its first manned mission into space, and the first mission to explore the depths of the ocean, at a depth of 6,000 kilometers in 2025.

The Indian Space Research Organization said that it will send the manned Gajanyan mission into space for 3 days, reaching an altitude of 400 kilometers above the Earths surface before returning again.

In 2018, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially announced his country's intention to send the first manned mission into space in August 2022, but it was decided to postpone the launch date to 2025 due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The Indian Prime Minister explained that in addition to launching rockets and satellites, the space field will have positive effects on the areas of agriculture, infrastructure, communications and health.

Meanwhile, during the year 2025, India also intends to send the Matsya 6000 submarine to explore the deep sea at a depth of 6,000.
