A ceasefire agreement, mediated by the United States to end the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, came into effect 4 am local time (02:00 GMT) on Wednesday.
There were no reports of any violations of the agreement so far.
The agreement stipulates an initial two-month halt to hostilities. Meanwhile, the United States and France, in a joint statement following the announcement of the ceasefire, pledging to lead international efforts to build the capabilities of the Lebanese army and support the Lebanese economy.
US President Joe Biden announced on Tuesday evening that Lebanon and Israel had agreed to a ceasefire, which would take effect Wednesday morning, thanking French President Emmanuel Macron for his efforts in reaching the agreement.
Lebanon has been subjected to Israeli aggression for over a year, which escalated since the end of September, resulting in thousands of civilian casualties and the displacement of more than a million people.
