Yesterday marked the beginning of the 12th session of the Holy Quran memorization competition for the auspicious month of Ramadan in 2023.

60 kids between the ages of 10 and 14 took part in all, with 35 of them being boys who attended the Quran memorization workshops at the Katara Mosque and 25 girls who attended the sessions at the Golden Mosque, where the course's activities are ongoing every week from Sunday to Thursday for an hour after the Asr prayer.

On the other hand, the present session also teaches youngsters about prayer, ablution, stories of the prophets, the Prophet's life, and Islamic literature in addition to teaching them portions of the Holy Quran and some of the Prophet's beautiful hadiths.

Through this competition, Katara hopes to inspire the next generation and enhance their ties to their Islamic heritage and the core principles of their authentic religion.

The parents of the children competing in the 12th session of the Holy Quran memorization competition, on the other hand, expressed their admiration for the advanced level of the course and the supervision of a group of skilled memorisers while also expressing their happiness that their children were participating in the event and leading workshops. They lauded the competition's significance in instilling Islamic ideals and excellent morals drawn from the Holy Qur'an and the life of the Prophet, as well as the significant role that Katara plays in introducing children and young adults to the Holy Qur'an, recitation, memorizing, and contemplation.
