Japanese Miwa Harimoto and Sora Matsushima have been crowned Mixed Doubles champions at WTT Star Contender Doha 2025, laying claim to their first trophy of the season with a 3-2 victory over Chinese Shi Xunyao and Huang Youzheng.
Chinese pair Xiang Peng and Xu Yingbin produced a champion-worthy performance at the table in an epic Men's Doubles final, defeating their Japanese opponents Tomokazu Harimoto and Sora Matsushima 3-2.
Director of the championship Mohammed Abdullah Al Saleh expressed his great happiness with the distinguished technical level in the competitions of the 30th edition, in all categories, both in singles and doubles.
Al Saleh stressed that the championship achieved its desired goal and that the organizing committee had considered many important matters before hosting the most important and largest event, which is the World Championship Qatar 2025 in May.
Al Saleh thanked the organizing committee for their efforts to make the championship come out in the best possible way.
Thani Al Zaraa, a member of the board of directors of the Table Tennis Association and director of national teams, noted the exciting match between Chinese and Japanese players for the doubles titles in the WTT Star Contender Doha 2025, stressing that this matter contributed to increasing rivalry during the championship, and that the fans and attendees enjoyed the matches and competition between top-ranked champions.
