Who Needs a US Visa and Who Does Not
Your nationality determines whether you need a visa or can travel on ESTA:
- ESTA eligible (no visa needed): Qatari passport holders, UK, EU, Australia, Japan, and other Visa Waiver Program countries
- US visa required: India, Pakistan, Philippines, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Jordan, and most other nationalities
If you hold a Qatar residence permit (QID) but your passport nationality is not in the Visa Waiver Program, you must apply for a B1/B2 visa at the US Embassy in Doha — even if you have lived in Qatar for many years.
