President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Doha on Tuesday to offer his condolences on the passing of HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
President Erdoğan and the accompanying Turkish delegation were received upon arrival at Hamad International Airport by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani and Türkiye's Ambassador to Qatar, Dr. Mustafa Göksu.
Later, HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received President Erdoğan at Lusail Palace, where the Turkish leader conveyed his heartfelt condolences on the passing of the late Father Amir.
The meeting was attended by HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani; HH the Personal Representative of the Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani; HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani; HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani; HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani; HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani; HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim; as well as a number of the sons of the late Father Amir and members of the Al Thani family.
President Erdoğan's visit is part of a continuing stream of regional and international leaders traveling to Doha to pay their respects following the death of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who passed away on July 12 at the age of 74. Qatar remains in a period of national mourning, with Lusail Palace hosting official condolence receptions for visiting heads of state, senior officials, and dignitaries from around the world.
