U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a temporary suspension of Project Freedom, the military initiative safeguarding shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, citing requests from Pakistan and other countries and progress in negotiations with Iran.
In his statement, President Trump highlighted the âtremendous military successâ achieved during the campaign against Iran and noted that significant strides have been made toward a comprehensive agreement with Iranian representatives.
He confirmed that while the naval blockade will remain in full force, the movement of ships under Project Freedom will be paused for a short period to assess whether the agreement can be finalized and signed.
The announcement underscores the delicate balance between military pressure and diplomatic engagement, as Washington and Tehran continue efforts to reach a settlement that could reshape regional dynamics.
