Qatar's winter and spring call for beach outings. With perfect sea weather, we've compiled a list of the best public beaches for soaking up the winter sun. Grab sunscreen and choose your preferred sandy spot in Qatar.
Sealine Beach
Sealine Beach in Mesaieed is among Qatar's top beaches, perfect for families and friends due to its diverse offerings beyond swimming, including camel rides, safari tours, and dune bashing. It's also a wonderful sunset viewing spot.
Getting there: Located in Qatar's south, Sealine Beach is a 35-minute drive from Doha International Airport and 40 minutes from Doha city.
Getting there: To reach the Inland Sea via the sand dunes, a skilled driver is essential – it's a 30-minute drive from Sealine Beach and approximately two and a half hours from Doha.
Al Maroona Beach
Al Maroona, a beach gem in northeast Qatar near Fuwairit Beach, offers golden sands and shallow turquoise waters for a perfect day by the sea. It takes around 1 hour and 10 minutes from Doha via Al Shamal Road.
 Close to Al Maroona, Fuwairit Beach is a pristine gem with white sands and clear blue waters. It's great for relaxation and beach activities like kitesurfing and volleyball. About 1.5 to 2 hours' drive from Doha.
Umm Bab Beach

Named after the scattered palm trees on its sandy shores, Umm Bab, or the "Palm Tree Beach," sits on Qatar's western coast. It's a wonderful spot for camping, with swimming during the day and stargazing at night.
Getting there: Umm Bab, an excellent day trip choice, is slightly over an hour's drive from Doha.
Katara Beach
At Katara Beach, you can relax or enjoy water activities like boat rides and SUP. It's family-friendly and easily accessible within Katara Cultural Village, Doha.
Simaisma Beach
Near Doha, Simaisma Beach is a peaceful getaway with soft sands and shallow waters, great for families. It's about a 30-minute drive, around 40 km from Doha.
It's worth noting that several of Qatar's public beaches are currently undergoing renovations. Visitors can still enjoy these beaches, but it's advised to bring essentials like umbrellas and cold water. Additionally, some public beaches may have rough access roads, so using a suitable vehicle is recommended.
