It rose to prominence in the 19th century, and over time, Ruq’ah was used everywhere, in book titles, newspapers, and daily note‑taking, in a way that feels elegant yet practical.

In the session, participants will dig into the background of this script, practice those distinctive strokes, and also understand how Ruq’ah shaped everyday communication within Ottoman culture. Whether you’re completely new to it or you’re more of an enthusiast, you’ll still get the chance to connect with tradition, while building your own artistic strengths, step by step.
