Russia Says Air Defenses Down 399 Ukrainian Drones Overnight

Moscow, September 14, 2026 : The Russian Ministry of Defense said Monday that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 399 Ukrainian drones overnight over several Russian regions.

In a statement, the Ministry said the drones were downed over the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Rostov, and Smolensk regions, as well as Crimea, Krasnodar Krai, and the Black Sea.

The reported drone interceptions come amid continued hostilities between Russia and Ukraine, with both sides regularly issuing statements on military operations, attacks, and developments along the front.

Since the conflict began on February 24, 2022, claims regarding battlefield activity, casualties, and damage have frequently been issued by both sides. Given the ongoing fighting and wartime conditions, such claims can be difficult to independently verify.
