Riyadh International Book Fair Unveils Cultural Program with Notable Qatar Participation

The organizing committee of the 2024 Riyadh International Book Fair has revealed the event’s cultural program, set to run from September 26 to October 5. This year's fair, where Qatar is the guest of honor, boasts a comprehensive cultural agenda featuring numerous prominent figures from the worlds of culture, literature, and art, along with leading publishing houses from the local, Arab, and international scenes.

The Saudi Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, which organizes the fair, highlighted that Qatar’s selection as the guest of honor underscores its influential role in the Gulf and Arab cultural spheres, as well as the deep historical and cultural ties between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The Commission also noted that this offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore Qatari achievements across various cultural, artistic, and literary fields. Attendees will have the chance to engage with leading Qatari cultural figures and discover notable literary works by Qatari authors, showcased by Qatari publishing houses and cultural organizations. Additionally, Qatar will feature a special pavilion for children focused on Islamic architecture and the art of children’s storytelling.

The 2024 Riyadh International Book Fair will include participation from over 2,000 publishing houses and agencies from more than 30 countries, spread across 800 pavilions.
