Registration in Qatar Public Schools Begins on April 24
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education announces the start of electronic registration and early transfer in government schools for the next academic year 2022-2023, which will begin on Sunday  24th  April, and run until Thursday, 9th June  2022 , through the Ministry's public services portal.
According to Ali Jassim al-Kuwari, Director of Schools Affairs - Education Affairs Sector - Ministry of Education and Higher Education, there are 129,248 students enrolled in governmental schools for the current year 2021-2022 (with 2.63% increase over the previous year). The total number of new students enrolled for the current academic year reached 14,766, including students transferred from private schools to government schools (5833 students).
The Department of Schools Affairs has issued a circular to all public schools and kindergartens, stating that registration will be electronic and will begin next week. Once completed, the guardian  will receive an SMS indicating that the early registration process for the student has been completed.
The early registration process has two phases; The first will open for Qataris, Qatari women's children, and citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries from April 24 to June 9, 2022, while the second phase will be available for all nationalities from May 15 to May 26, 2022.
First: admission to public schools:
The Cabinet's decision during its regular meeting (19) for the year 2013, held on May 15, 2013, limited the acceptance of new students in governmental schools to the following categories:
1. Qataris' children.
2. Qatari women's children.
3. Citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council countries' children.
4. Children of non-Qatari nationals who work government agencies, authorities, and public institutions
5. Children of non-Qatari people working in private charitable associations and organizations.
 Early electronic registration/transfer of students at governmental schools for the new academic year 2022/2023:

⢠The guardian enters the public services portal on the website of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education via the link (https://eduservices.edu.gov.qa).
⢠Choose the required service (according to the time allocated for each category and for each service): -

- To register a new student or a transferred student from a private school, the guardian must click on the âelectronic registration in public schoolsâ icon and follow the instructions.

- To transfer a student from a government school to another government school, the guardian must click on the âelectronic transfer in public schoolsâ icon and follow the instructions.
- To submit a request for registering students having (Qatari document holdersâ children / registration of a sibling student / identification of an electricity number) click on the icon additional services for registering and transferring students in governmental schoolsâ and follow the instructions.
⢠The school reviews the application and takes the appropriate action (Approval / Rejection) with the reason for rejection.
⢠The Schools Affairs Department follows up on requests and provides the necessary support to parents and schools, while applying the policies regulating the registration process.
