QU and PHCC
In cooperation with the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), Qatar University (QU) launched a public awareness campaign aimed at encouraging vaccination against shingles, promoting prevention and protecting the health of senior citizens (the elderly) in the country.
In a statement on Tuesday, QU said that the campaign is entitled "Protect the Ones Who Protected You," which carries a powerful message to community members, especially young people, calling on students and youth to play an active role in encouraging their parents and relatives aged 50 and above, to receive the vaccine against shingles.
The shingles vaccine is safe, effective, and recommended for adults aged 50 years and above. The vaccination consists of two doses and is now available at all PHCC health centers.
