The Qatar Sports for All Federation (QSFA) has organized a new series of fitness competitions aimed at encouraging children, teenagers and young people to embrace sports and physical activity.
Fitness Competitions Held at Al-Thakhira
The event was organized in collaboration with Al-Thakhira Youth Center and brought participants together in a lively and competitive sporting environment.
The competitions were held for three age groups:
Children: 3 to 11 years
Juniors: 12 to 15 years
Youth: 16 to 18 years
The activities were designed to develop participants’ physical abilities while encouraging them to adopt healthier and more active lifestyles.
Part of the “365 Days of Activity” Programme
The fitness tournament forms part of the QSFA’s wider initiatives to improve physical fitness across different sections of society, particularly through its “365 Days of Activity” programme.
The federation aims to encourage people of different ages to regularly participate in sports and make greater use of sports facilities, public parks, clubs and community centres across Qatar.
Promoting Sports for All Age Groups
Through accessible competitions and activities, the QSFA seeks to provide sporting opportunities that are suitable for different ages and abilities.
The federation also focuses on organizing innovative activities that can be enjoyed by community members without requiring the specialised skills or facilities associated with sports such as swimming, equestrian, tennis or shooting.
QSFA Highlights Importance of Community Fitness
QSFA Executive Director Abdullah Al Dosari said such competitions are among the key activities on the federation’s calendar because of their direct role in encouraging members of the community to participate in sports and fitness activities.
He highlighted the accessibility of these events, which allow participants to begin at different levels without facing the specialised requirements associated with some other sports.
Encouraging an Active Lifestyle in Qatar
The latest fitness contests reflect Qatar’s continued efforts to promote community participation in physical activity.
By offering accessible programmes for children, juniors and young people, the QSFA aims to strengthen fitness levels and build a lasting culture of sports, health and active living across society.
