QSC Launches Implementation Phase of 'Young Inventors' Programme

Doha: The Qatar Scientific Club (QSC), affiliated with the Ministry of Sports and Youth (MSY), has launched the implementation phase of its "Young Inventors" programme, a national initiative aimed at nurturing young innovators and transforming creative ideas into practical projects. 

The programme is part of the national initiative unveiled by the Ministry of Sports and Youth during Web Summit Qatar 2026. It targets young people aged 15 to 30, helping them develop their skills in science, technology and innovation while encouraging creative thinking and entrepreneurship. 

According to the Qatar Scientific Club, the initiative seeks to prepare a new generation of inventors capable of contributing to Qatar's sustainable development goals and strengthening the country's competitiveness in science, technology and innovation. 

Programme Director Eng. Aisha Al Jaber said the initiative reflects the club's vision of building an integrated national ecosystem that supports young innovators by providing an advanced scientific environment where participants can transform innovative concepts into real-world projects. 

She noted that participants will have access to laboratories, manufacturing workshops, advanced technological equipment, technical support and scientific consultations from specialists, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience based on high engineering and scientific standards. 

The programme is supported by a wide range of national partners, including Qatar University, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar Foundation, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Qatar Business Incubation Center, Qatar Science and Technology Park, the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation Council, and Qatar Development Bank. The collaboration aims to strengthen innovation, empower youth and prepare future entrepreneurs capable of developing practical solutions for society. 

The "Young Inventors" programme features a series of applied workshops and interactive activities covering every stage of the innovation journey—from idea generation and feasibility studies to engineering design, prototype development, manufacturing and technical testing. Participants will also showcase their projects before a professional evaluation panel using modern technologies in programming, electronics and 2D and 3D engineering design. 

Organisers expect the programme to produce innovative prototypes that address everyday challenges while enhancing participants' engineering, teamwork and entrepreneurial skills. The initiative also supports Qatar's transition toward a knowledge-based economy by encouraging young people to pursue careers in innovation and technology. 

The programme reflects the Ministry of Sports and Youth's commitment to unlocking the potential of Qatar's youth by combining scientific knowledge with practical application and creating opportunities for the next generation of inventors and innovators.
