The State of Qatar, represented by the Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) participated, as an observer, in the 12th meeting of the Directors of Civil Aviation in North America, Central America and the Caribbean, held by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Belize.
In Charge of Managing QCAA, Mohammed bin Faleh Al-Hajri headed the Qatari delegation to the meeting, which was attended by directors of civil aviation authorities in that region, in addition to senior officials in the aviation sector.
During the meeting, the QCAA presented a paper summarizing the efforts of the State of Qatar and its continuous endeavor to enhance multilateral relations with ICAO and its member states. The Authority also focused through this paper on the State of Qatar's readiness to support the effective implementation of ICAO standards and recommended practices in member states, by submitting a proposal to develop ways of joint cooperation and establish strategic partnerships, as this proposal received the support of representatives of ICAO member states and those working in the field of civil aviation industry.
ICAO Secretary-General, Juan Carlos Salazar Gomez, expressed his appreciation for the State of Qatar's outstanding efforts and its continued commitment to developing international civil aviation, and its presence and participation in such international and regional events related to civil aviation.
