QCAA Orders Closure of Seventeen Travel and Cargo Agencies Over Licensing Violations

QCAA closes 17 travel and cargo agencies for breaching aviation rules

The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has announced the closure of 17 travel and air cargo agencies found to be operating outside the framework of approved aviation laws and regulations. The decision follows intensified inspection campaigns conducted by the Authority’s Air Transport Department, aimed at tightening oversight and ensuring compliance across the sector.

Officials explained that the inspection drive is part of a broader initiative to safeguard consumer rights, strengthen transparency, and maintain the integrity of Qatar’s aviation services. The campaigns revealed that several agencies were conducting business without the required licenses or in violation of regulatory standards, prompting immediate enforcement action.

The QCAA stressed that all operators must secure proper authorization before engaging in travel or cargo activities, in line with Law No. (3) of 2025. It warned that non‑compliance will result in strict measures, including shutdowns and referral for further legal proceedings.

By acting decisively, the Authority reaffirmed its commitment to protecting passengers and businesses from risks associated with unregulated operations. Officials emphasized that adherence to regulations is essential for maintaining public trust and ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of Qatar’s aviation industry.

The announcement also serves as a reminder to industry stakeholders that Qatar’s aviation framework is designed to support growth while prioritizing safety and accountability. The QCAA confirmed that inspection campaigns will continue, with additional agencies expected to face scrutiny in the coming months.

The Authority concluded by urging all travel and cargo operators to act responsibly, comply with the law, and contribute to the stability of the aviation sector, reiterating that violations will not be tolerated.
