Saif Al Din Mohamed

Qatar national athletics team pole vaulter Saif Al Din Mohamed continued his impressive run of form by setting a new national record at the Sopot Athletics Meet in Poland on Thursday.

Mohamed Clears 5.90 Metres

Mohamed produced a standout performance by clearing 5.90 metres, establishing a new Qatari record in the pole vault.

The achievement adds to a series of strong performances from the young athlete, who has continued to improve his personal bests while setting new records at Gulf and West Asian level.

Award-Winning Young Athlete

Mohamed was recognised with the 2025 Asian Athletics Federation's Best U-23 Athlete Award, highlighting his status as one of the region's promising young athletics talents.

His latest record further underlines his rapid progress and growing reputation in international pole vaulting.

Previous Record Broken in Germany

Just two weeks before his latest achievement, Mohamed cleared 5.83 metres at the Jokgrimm Athletics Meet in Germany.

That performance itself established a new record, surpassing his previous mark of 5.62 metres, which he recorded at the 2025 Arab Championships in Algeria.

His progression from 5.62m to 5.83m and now 5.90m reflects his continued improvement over a relatively short period.

Asian Games Challenge Ahead

Mohamed is also part of the Qatar national athletics team preparing to compete at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan next month.

With his latest record-breaking performance coming just weeks before the continental competition, the pole vaulter will enter the Asian Games with strong momentum and confidence.

His rapid progress will make him one of Qatar's athletes to watch as the country prepares for the upcoming multi-sport event.
