Qatar's First Off-Leash Dog Park Opens in Al Bidda Park

Barkers & Mittens Pet Boutique announced today that it has secured all of the necessary approvals to launch, and has now launched Doha’s first and only off-leash dog park, which it has rented from Al Bidda Park.  The approximately 2,000 sq m fully fenced outdoor Dog Park is located amidst the Al Rumailah section of leafy Al Bidda Park, right next door to Barkers & Mittens Pet Boutique. Opened on 1 November 2021, the Dog Park is completely free to enter, and provides all the customary Dog Park amenities (fresh water, bags, agility equipment etc.) without charge to all of Doha’s dog owners.

The Dog Park features two sections – one for small to medium dogs and a larger area for loftier breeds.  Continuing Barkers & Mittens’ commitment to conducting safe and environmentally friendly pet-centric activities, the Dog Park will also be solar powered.

“We are very excited to have launched Qatar’s first real off-leash Dog Park,” says Grace Sapo, Barkers & Mittens’ Manager.  “Our dream at Barkers has always been to create a safe, eco-friendly, welcoming and healthy community for pets and their owners,” she said.  “And this dream is one huge step closer to being fulfilled with the introduction of this free-to-use Dog Park, where all dogs of all sizes and breeds can gain valuable exercise off-leash, socialize with other similarly sized dogs, and create a closer bond with their owners, all of which have been proven to significantly improve the mental and physical wellbeing of dogs (and also their owners).”
