Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani, attended a graduation ceremony on Tuesday for the 26th cohort of national service recruits. The event took place at the National Service Academy in Doha.

A year of combined training

The graduating recruits completed a full year of training that mixed practical exercises with classroom instruction. The program was designed to prepare them for both general service duties and future leadership roles within Qatar's armed forces.

A new summer program for younger participants

During the ceremony, Sheikh Saoud launched a new initiative called Muqdam Al Ghad, which translates to Tomorrow's Pioneer. The summer program will run from June 28 to July 23 and targets participants between the ages of 11 and 15.

The program focuses on building leadership skills and strengthening national identity among younger Qataris. Organizers say the goal is to prepare participants to face future challenges with a strong sense of patriotism.

Top graduates honored

Before the ceremony closed, Sheikh Saoud personally honored the top-performing graduates from the 26th cohort, recognizing their achievements throughout the year-long program.

Senior officials in attendance

Several senior Qatari officials joined the ceremony alongside the graduates and their families. Attendees included Minister of Transport HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Thani and Minister of State for Interior Affairs HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Mohammed Al-Thani.

Lt. Gen. (Pilot) Jassim bin Mohammed Al Mannai, Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces, also attended, along with senior military officers from across the armed forces.
