Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan
Qatar's Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan have been drawn into Group A for the beach volleyball competition at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. The duo, who clinched bronze at Tokyo 2020 and currently hold the top spot in Asia, are gearing up to face tough competition. Their group includes Sweden's World No.1 pair, David Ahman and Jonatan Hellvig, along with teams from Italy and Australia.
In their Olympic debut as a team in Tokyo, Cherif and Ahmed made history by securing Qatar's first beach volleyball medal. Since then, they have continued their success, defending their Asian Games gold in Hangzhou 2023 and clinching the AVC Asian Championships title. Their consistent performance has earned them direct qualification to the Paris Games based on their world ranking.
The Olympic draw divided 24 teams into six groups, setting the stage for intense competition at the 14,000-seat beach volleyball stadium at Champ-de-Mars Park, where teams will vie for gold from July 27 to August 10, with the iconic Eiffel Tower providing a stunning backdrop.
