FSO Safer tanker
The State of Qatar welcomed the start of unloading oil from the decaying Yemen-flagged FSO Safer tankerin the Red Sea, by the United Nations.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar's appreciation for the efforts of the United Nations and international partners in addressing one of the most pressing environmental issues by preventing oil spillage from the tanker in the waters of the Red Sea.
The ministry expressed the State of Qatar's pride in its contribution to supporting the rescue operations coordinated by the United Nations to prevent the catastrophic spill and affirmed its full readiness to support all international efforts aimed at building a safer and more sustainable future for all.
