Test program aiming to reduce work hours for female Qatari government employees
Qatar has introduced a plan to reduce working hours for Qatari women employed in the government sector who have children attending school. This pilot initiative will begin during the upcoming mid-term break of the current academic year.
As part of this trial initiative, female employees with school-going children will conclude their workday at 12 noon, as stated in the announcement.
Commencing from December 24, 2023, until January 4, 2024, the reduced working hours will be put into practice. Following this period, an assessment of this initiative's effectiveness will be conducted by the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau.
The announcement of this new initiative, made in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, was conveyed through the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau's social media channels.
