The State of Qatar has strongly condemned a fresh wave of attacks launched by the Islamic Republic of Iran against its territory, alongside similar attacks on the territories of Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait.
In a statement issued Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attacks as a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the targeted nations, and a clear breach of international law, the UN Charter, and the principles of good neighborliness.
The Ministry warned that the continuation of such attacks amounts to a dangerous escalation, one that threatens to complicate ongoing de-escalation efforts and undermine diplomatic initiatives aimed at restoring security and stability across the region. It stated that Iran will be held fully and legally responsible for the attacks and any resulting consequences.
Qatar further affirmed that it reserves its full right to respond in line with international law and Article 51 of the UN Charter, and to take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and citizens. The Ministry also reiterated Qatar's full solidarity with its sisterly nations, expressing support for any legitimate steps they may take to defend their own sovereignty and security.
The statement concluded with a call for an immediate and complete halt to all military actions threatening regional stability, urging all parties to refrain from further escalation and to return seriously to dialogue, negotiation, and the diplomatic understandings previously reached.
