Qatar Strongly Condemns Houthi Attacks on Riyadh

Doha, September 20, 2026 : The State of Qatar has condemned in the strongest possible terms the Houthi group's targeting of Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a ballistic missile, as well as its attempted targeting of civilians and civilian assets in the cities of Bish, Taif, Farasan, and Yanbu.

Ministry Describes Attacks as "Reprehensible" and Unlawful

In a statement Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that such attacks amount to a reprehensible hostile act and an unacceptable disregard for civilian lives, as well as a flagrant violation of Saudi Arabia's sovereignty and a clear breach of the rules-based international order.

Qatar Calls for Immediate End to Attacks

The Ministry underlined that Qatar firmly rejects assaults on civilians and civilian assets, stressing the importance of immediately halting these irresponsible actions.

Qatar Reaffirms Solidarity with Saudi Arabia

The Ministry reiterated Qatar's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all legitimate measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and interests, affirming that Saudi Arabia's security is an integral part of Qatar's own security and the collective security of the Gulf Cooperation Council states.
