Qatar PM Joins Jordan’s King in Meeting with Arab Ministerial Committee on Occupied Jerusalem

Amman: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani participated in a high-level meeting hosted by King Abdullah II of Jordan with members of the Arab Ministerial Committee on occupied Jerusalem in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

The meeting focused on the latest developments concerning Jerusalem and the occupied Palestinian territories, with participants reaffirming the need to protect the city’s historical and legal status while supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

King Abdullah II stressed the importance of unified Arab efforts to safeguard Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and called for intensified international action to halt violations in the occupied territories. He also underlined the need to support humanitarian efforts and work towards a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.

The Arab Ministerial Committee reiterated its commitment to coordinating diplomatic efforts aimed at preserving the legal and historical identity of Jerusalem and supporting international initiatives that advance peace and regional stability.

Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed Qatar’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and reiterated the country’s position in backing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He also emphasized the importance of protecting civilians, ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid, and pursuing a lasting political solution in line with international legitimacy.

The meeting brought together senior Arab officials to discuss ways to strengthen regional coordination and mobilize international support for preserving Jerusalem’s status and advancing efforts to achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East.
