Qatar Summer Environmental Club

In Qatar, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change announced that registration for its Summer Environmental Club has opened up, which is a youth program designed to raise environmental awareness among students by exposing them to sustainability practices within Qatar.

The 2026 edition of the club will run from 21 June 2026 to 2 July 2026 and will host 20 Qatari students aged between 11 and 17.

The initiative is a part of the programs launched by the ministry as an educational tool to instill environmental values in youth and above all introduce students to Chile's ever-evolving environmental sector, said a statement issued on 12 May 2026.

It also aims to promote and establish desired behaviour towards environmental protection and conservation of natural resources.

The ministry called on parents to register students interested in line with the conditions announced and specified that places were still limited, adding that admission would be granted only to those who applied first.

Established in 2024, the Summer Environmental Club was offered for a period of three weeks. The components consisted of lectures, workshops and field visits that introduced concepts such as sustainability, wildlife and ocean conservation (the marine environment) together with the care for natural resources.

The second edition of last year with the theme "Sustainability Generation" gathered 20 students from July 1 to July 14. It covered a variety of topics, from smart cities to the circular economy and at least two digital technologies that support sustainability efforts — all contextualized by site visits across the country.

A second edition also offered a partnership with Unesco, which added specific workshops to the program. At the end of an initiative, participants received internationally accredited certificates.

The annual initiative "expresses Qatar's continued investments in sustainability and climate education, especially towards the younger generations," said the ministry.
