Qatar Olympic Committee Honors 102 Staff for Service and Professional Development

Doha, Qatar - September 02, 2026 – HE President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani honored 102 of the organization's staff members on Wednesday in recognition of their career achievements and professional development.

Ceremony Highlights Years of Service and Growth

The ceremony, held in Doha, recognized the honorees' years of service, professional excellence, and participation in development programs, with the committee emphasizing its ongoing commitment to fostering continued learning and career growth among its workforce.

Senior QOC Officials in Attendance

The event was attended by senior officials from the committee, including HE Mohammed bin Yousef Al Mana, First Vice-President; HE Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, Second Vice-President; and HE Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, Secretary-General.

Breakdown of Honorees and Awards

Of the 102 employees recognized, 30 received service and excellence awards, while 72 graduated from the committee's professional development programs in 2025.

The service awards honored staff who had completed 25 years or more with the committee, as well as retirees concluding their careers. Excellence awards were presented across three categories: supervisory positions, specialist roles, and general staff.

Five incentive awards recognized professional commitment, initiative, teamwork, outstanding leadership, and effective contributions to organizing sporting events. Additionally, seven employees received the "Tomouh" (Ambition) award for completing academic qualifications during 2025.

HR Director Highlights Talent Development Efforts

Maryam Al Kuwari, Director of the committee's Human Resources and Administrative Affairs Department, said the organization remains focused on attracting talented professionals from leading universities, particularly in specialized fields.

She noted that 277 employees across various departments have graduated from the committee's five development programs since their launch, adding that the QOC delivered close to 100 training, awareness, and educational courses and programs throughout 2025.
