The Qatar national football team touched down in Los Angeles on Sunday to begin preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, where they were warmly received by HE Sheikh Mishaal bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar’s Ambassador to the United States.
The squad is set to play a warm‑up fixture against El Salvador on June 6, ahead of the tournament scheduled to run from June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
In a post on his official X account, Sheikh Mishaal expressed delight at welcoming the team, wishing the players and technical staff success in their campaign, and voicing confidence that they will represent Qatar with pride on the global stage.
The arrival marks the start of Qatar’s final phase of preparations as the team looks to build momentum before the opening of football’s biggest event.
