Qatar National Library has announced a packed August 2026 programme featuring workshops, family activities, educational sessions, and community events designed for entrepreneurs, artists, children, parents, and lifelong learners.

The month-long calendar offers opportunities to develop new skills, explore creativity, and engage with the community through a wide variety of interactive events.

 

Startup Workshop for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

One of the month's key highlights is a startup workshop on 15 August 2026, organised in collaboration with Qatar Development Bank.

Participants will learn about:

  • Entrepreneurship fundamentals

  • Market validation

  • Business development

  • Early-stage funding opportunitie

 

Summer Library Camp Returns

The seventh Summer Library Camp will run from 2 August until the end of the month, offering children and teenagers an engaging programme of educational and recreational activities.

The camp includes:

  • STEM learning

  • Arts and crafts

  • Creative workshops

  • Recreational activities

  • Innovation and AI in Libraries

On 16 August 2026, the library will host an IFLA regional workshop focusing on innovation in library services and the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in modern libraries.

 

Creative and Community Events

Several community-focused activities are scheduled throughout the month, including:

  • Art Majlis on 18 August 2026, bringing together artists to network and share creative ideas.

  • Chess for Everyone on 20 August 2026, welcoming players of all skill levels for an open chess session.


Special Events on 25 August

Three dedicated programmes will take place on 25 August 2026, focusing on education, inclusion, and cultural understanding:

You Are the First Teacher – Helping parents and caregivers prepare children aged 3–6 for school.
Together on the Journey – Supporting families of people with disabilities.
Cultural Mosaic – Encouraging participants to share traditions, cultures, and personal experiences.


Family Storytelling Session

On 27 August 2026, Qatar National Library, in partnership with Wifaq Family Consulting Center, will host a family storytelling event exploring how shared stories help strengthen family bonds and preserve cultural heritage through interactive discussions and activities.

 

Story Time and Book Talk

The programme also introduces a new Story Time series, where children's authors will read their own books to young audiences.

The month concludes on 29 August 2026 with Book Talk, featuring author Ruby Kapoor, who will discuss her book Let's Talk About Life, covering themes such as:

  • Personal growth

  • Mindfulness

  • Gratitude

Qatar National Library's August programme offers something for every age group, making it an ideal opportunity for residents to learn, create, connect, and celebrate knowledge throughout the month.
