Qatar’s Ministry of Social Development and Family has launched the second edition of its Financial Awareness Program, aimed at strengthening sound financial management skills among individuals and families.
The initiative, led by the ministry’s Family Empowerment Department, focuses on promoting financial planning, saving and responsible spending. The program is designed to help families manage their resources more effectively, support financial stability and improve quality of life.
Part of Qatar’s Wider Development Plans
The program forms part of projects linked to Qatar’s Third National Development Strategy 2024–2030. It also reflects the ministry’s efforts to reach different segments of society by strengthening community partnerships and working with relevant organisations.
Through these partnerships, the ministry aims to broaden the program’s reach and increase its positive impact across the community.
Family Budget Workshop Held
As part of the initiative, the ministry organised a workshop titled “The Family Budget” in cooperation with the Investment and Trade Court and the Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants.
The workshop was held for employees of the Investment and Trade Court and focused on providing participants with practical knowledge and skills to manage financial resources and household budgets efficiently and responsibly.
Budgeting, Saving and Investment in Focus
The session was presented by Abdulla Ahmed Al Mansoori, an accounting expert and board member of the Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants.
Topics covered included family financial governance, preparing and managing budgets, controlling expenses, financial planning, teaching children about money, and encouraging a culture of saving and investment.
The workshop highlighted how stronger financial knowledge can help households make informed decisions, prepare for future expenses and build greater financial stability.
Building Financially Resilient Families
Buthaina Al Obaidly, Director of the Family Empowerment Department, reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to implementing initiatives that strengthen financial awareness among individuals and families.
She said improving financial knowledge enables families to manage their resources efficiently and responsibly, plan more effectively for the future and better respond to financial challenges.
Financial Awareness as a Life Skill
The second edition of the program reinforces the ministry’s broader objective of making responsible financial management an important everyday skill. By encouraging budgeting, saving, investment awareness and responsible spending, the initiative seeks to contribute to stronger and more stable families across Qatar.
