Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education has launched the “Rawaq Al-Dhiya” Summer Educational Camp, bringing together 62 students aged between 14 and 18 for an intensive programme focused on Quranic education, character development and personal growth.
The camp is being held at Ezdan Palace Hotel from August 9 to 27, 2026, as part of the ministry’s efforts to provide young people with a meaningful and educational summer experience.
Camp Focuses on Quranic Learning and Character Building
Supervised by the Committee for the Development and Promotion of Quranic and Arabic Language Education, the camp aims to nurture a generation that is committed to the Holy Quran, Islamic values and national identity.
The programme combines Quran memorisation and revision with spiritual education, character development and activities designed to encourage positive behaviour in daily life.
62 Students Take Part
A total of 62 students aged 14 to 18 are participating in the summer camp.
The programme is designed to help participants improve their Quran memorisation skills while developing discipline, confidence and a stronger understanding of moral values derived from the Quran.
The camp also aims to highlight young participants as positive role models who can contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Structured Quran Memorisation Programme
A key component of “Rawaq Al-Dhiya” is its structured Quranic programme.
Students participate in:
Quran memorisation and revision
Daily progress monitoring
Regular assessments
Competitive activities
Recognition programmes
Individual guidance and counselling
A specialised team of Quran teachers and educators supervises the students, helping them strengthen previously memorised portions and improve their overall proficiency.
Scholars and Educators Lead Daily Sessions
The camp extends beyond memorisation by offering a wider educational programme.
Daily sessions are conducted by scholars, educators and specialists, with lectures, religious sessions and visits from scholars and preachers forming part of the programme.
These activities focus on strengthening faith, developing moral values, encouraging positive role models and reinforcing students’ sense of belonging and identity.
Sports and Recreational Activities Included
The organisers have also incorporated sports, cultural and recreational activities to create a balanced learning environment.
Participants can take part in activities such as:
Swimming
Football
Tennis
Educational trips
Group activities
Cultural programmes
The activities are designed to complement Quranic learning by promoting physical fitness, teamwork, recreation and social interaction.
Full Accommodation Provided
Students participating in the camp receive full accommodation, including daily meals and access to the various educational and recreational programmes.
The structured environment is intended to promote discipline while allowing participants to build positive relationships based on shared Quranic values.
Camp to Conclude With Recognition Ceremony
The “Rawaq Al-Dhiya” camp will conclude on August 27, 2026, with a ceremony to recognise participants and present them with accredited certificates in recognition of their efforts and achievements.
The ceremony will mark the completion of the current camp and celebrate the progress made by the participating students.
Long-Term Goal to Develop Quranic Role Models
The initiative has a broader six-year vision beyond the current summer programme.
The project aims to graduate 62 Quran memorizers, including 20 influential community role models, over the six-year period.
The long-term objective is not limited to Quran memorisation. It also focuses on embedding Quranic values into students’ behaviour, strengthening their character and preparing them to make positive contributions to society.
Building a Well-Rounded Young Generation
Through its combination of Quranic education, religious learning, sports, cultural activities and personal development, “Rawaq Al-Dhiya” provides students with a comprehensive summer educational experience.
The initiative reflects Qatar’s efforts to use the summer vacation to develop young people who value knowledge, discipline, Islamic principles and national identity, while gaining the skills and confidence needed to play an active role in their communities and the country’s future.
