Qatar is looking for all kinds of artists, musicians and performers to showcase Qatar’s vibrant cultural scene – and be part of the biggest football tournament in the world.
This initiative is an opportunity for you to present your work to local, regional and international audiences. By engaging with the artistic community, Qatar aims to build upon, develop and promote connectivity, culture and people. Join this nation's journey on the road to 2022.
In order to deliver an immersive cultural fan experience, Qatar is inviting artists from across the globe to showcase their talents during the FIFA World Cup™, which will be held from 21 November to 18 December.
The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) is welcoming applications from all kinds of performers – including visual arts, crafts and heritage, fashion and design, performance arts, theatre, music and film – who are interested in performing at a variety of cultural activations across Qatar during the tournament.
Successful applicants will become part of the host country entertainment offering and help to deliver an exceptional fan experience. The project aims to support the SC’s ongoing efforts to make Qatar 2022 a platform for cultural exchange while providing a vibrant array of activities.
Khaled Al Suwaidi, the SC’s Stakeholder Relations Director, said: “We are looking for talented artists who are excited to play a role in delivering the first FIFA World Cup in our country and region. Our goal is to thrill and excite fans from across the globe while celebrating our shared love of art and football. The performers can expect an incredible experience and the opportunity to share their talents with thousands of people from all over the world.”
Al Suwaidi continued: “This project will add colour and enthusiasm to our month-long festival of football. We are looking forward to welcoming the artists in Qatar. We are sure they will provide something for everyone to enjoy.”
The artists will support a range of activities in stadium precincts, the FIFA Fan Festival™, fan zones, Corniche Street activations, and other events such as the D’reesha Performing Arts Festival in Education City and entertainment offerings in Msheireb, as well as metro and bus stations.
Performers will need to provide the following information as part of their application:
- Personal and contact information
- Details of their art/practice
- Details about their performance setup
- Performers are also encouraged to upload proposals as part of their application
Successful applicants will be expected to cover the cost of their flights, accommodation and personal expenses. The SC is working with local partners to provide special rates for accommodation.
