Qatar Hospitality Exhibition
The ninth edition of the Qatar Hospitality Exhibition, organized by the IFP Qatar in collaboration with Qatar Tourism, attracted nearly 12,000 visitors. Featuring 120 exhibitors from 20 countries, the event was held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.
The recently concluded exhibition witnessed the presence of prominent local and international figures, including Their Excellencies ambassadors of participating countries and heads of international delegations.
General Manager, IFP Qatar, Haidar Mshaimesh, highlighted the exhibition's strong attendance, stating that the Qatar Hospitality Exhibition succeeded in drawing nearly 12,000 visitors, reflecting its significant success. This is particularly evident in the diverse range of exclusive products and services offered by over 120 suppliers and service providers from various sectors, including hospitality, hotels, restaurants, cafes, tourism, and food and beverages, representing more than 20 countries.
He further noted that the event facilitated partnerships between participating Qatari companies and their international and local counterparts, promoting the development of new tourism products and strengthening Qatar's hospitality sector growth.
Mshaimesh emphasized that the exhibition brought together suppliers, investors, and industry specialists under one roof to explore investment opportunities and emerging markets, exchange ideas, and discuss the latest industry developments. Additionally, the event served as a platform for showcasing talents and skills through specialized competitions for the hotel, restaurant, and cafe sectors (HORECA), along with live cooking demonstrations.
He explained that the 2024 Qatar Hospitality Exhibition served as a key commercial platform to elevate the tourism and hospitality sectors in the country, fostering opportunities to meet national goals of economic diversification in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. The event aimed to reinforce Qatar's initiatives to diversify its economy by relying on tourism and hospitality as key drivers for market growth and development.
The 2024 edition featured a special recognition ceremony titled "Ambassadors of Excellence," which honored outstanding managers across various hotel sectors in Qatar for their exemplary service during 2024. Omar Al Jaber, Acting Head of Tourism Development at Qatar Tourism, presented the awardees with certificates and commemorative shields.
Additionally, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the government partner of the exhibition, participated with a dedicated pavilion that hosted a high-level Moroccan delegation as part of the Qatar-Morocco 2024 Year of Culture. The delegation included senior officials from public and private Moroccan tourism and hospitality institutions.
The exhibition also offered a series of concurrent events that provided visitors with a comprehensive experience. Among the highlights were the "Salon Culinaire" live cooking competitions, featuring over 175 chefs from 35 leading four- and five-star hotels in Doha. The competition showcased the chefs' skills across more than 20 culinary categories.
For the first time, the exhibition included live cooking demonstrations by internationally renowned chefs specializing in fine dining from countries such as France and Morocco.
The event placed a significant focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences in Qatar's hospitality and tourism sectors, emphasizing their central role in the industry's development. These efforts aim to support companies in identifying solutions and sharing ideas to enhance the experience of both local and international visitors.
