Qatar Foundation Opens Registration for 2027 Akhlaquna Award

Qatar Foundation has opened registration for the 2027 edition of the Akhlaquna Award, inviting children, young people and adults from Qatar and across the Gulf to submit initiatives that turn ethical values into meaningful community impact.

Applications are now being accepted through the Akhlaquna initiative’s official platform, with registration remaining open until December 17, 2026.

Four Categories Open for Applications

The 2027 edition includes four participation categories designed to encourage involvement across different age groups.

Baraem – Young Children

The Baraem category is open to participants aged 7 to 14 years.

Youth

Young people between 15 and 18 years old can participate through the Youth category.

Young Adults

The Young Adults category is open to individuals and groups aged 18 to 25.

Individual Contributions

Participants aged 25 to 45 from Qatar and other Gulf countries can apply through the Individual Contributions category.

Akhlaquna Award Marks Its 10th Year

The upcoming edition represents an important milestone for the initiative, marking the 10th year of the Akhlaquna Award.

Since its launch, the programme has highlighted individuals and young people whose projects demonstrate ethical values through practical initiatives capable of creating positive change.

Qatar Foundation says the award has helped encourage a culture in which values are transformed from ideas into real-world actions benefiting communities.

Award Looks for Projects With Real Impact

Ahmed Yousuf Al Malki, Project Manager and member of the Akhlaquna Award, said the programme is looking for initiatives that translate ethical principles into tangible and sustainable social impact.

Projects can address areas including:

•    Education
•    Community service
•    Volunteering
•    Social development
•    Other initiatives promoting positive ethical change

Particular attention will be given to innovative ideas that respond to real-world challenges, demonstrate a clear purpose and impact, and have the potential to grow or continue over time.

More Than Just the Project

The evaluation process will not focus solely on the submitted project itself.

According to Al Malki, judges will also consider the personal contribution and influence of the applicant, including their ability to create positive change and promote ethical values within their school, university or wider community.

The award aims to recognise individuals who not only develop strong initiatives but also serve as positive role models capable of encouraging others to take action.

Encouraging Young People to Turn Ideas Into Action

One of the central objectives of Akhlaquna is to demonstrate that age does not prevent someone from making a meaningful difference.

Al Malki said young people have repeatedly shown their ability to transform ideas into practical initiatives with genuine social impact.

The 2027 edition aims to expand the award’s reach further and encourage more young people to turn the values they believe in into sustainable actions within their communities.

Small Ideas Can Create Meaningful Change

Qatar Foundation is also encouraging potential applicants not to assume that successful community projects require large budgets or extensive resources.

Participants are being encouraged to start with what they can realistically achieve within their own surroundings.

The emphasis is on identifying a value, translating that value into action and creating a genuine positive difference in the lives of others.
