Qatar Football Association Unveils Final Squad for FIFA World Cup 2026

The Qatar Football Association (QFA) has officially revealed the national team roster that will represent the country at the FIFA World Cup 2026, set to take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.

The announcement confirms a 26‑man squad blending experienced leaders with emerging talents, reflecting Qatar’s ambition to build on its historic debut at the 2022 World Cup. The team will be led by head coach Julen Lopetegui, who has emphasized balance between defensive resilience and attacking flair.

The lineup features three goalkeepers – Mahmood Abunada, Meshaal Barsham, and Salah Zakaria – tasked with anchoring the team’s backline. The defensive unit includes seasoned figures such as Boualem Khoukhi, Pedro Miguel, and Lucas Mendes, alongside younger players like Homam Al Amin and Sultan Al Brake, offering depth and versatility.

In midfield, Qatar will rely on the creativity and control of Assim Madibo, Abdulaziz Hatem, Karim Boudiaf, and Ahmed Fathy, supported by Jassim Gaber and Mohammed Muntari. Their role will be crucial in linking play and dictating tempo against strong group opponents.

The forward line showcases Qatar’s attacking firepower, spearheaded by star striker Almoez Ali and dynamic winger Akram Afif, complemented by veteran captain Hassan Al Haydos. The inclusion of Emilson Junior, Ahmed Al Jahni, and Tameem Mohammed adds further options in the final third.

Qatar has been drawn into Group B, where it will face Switzerland, Canada, and Bosnia & Herzegovina. The squad announcement has generated excitement among fans, who see this as an opportunity for the team to surpass its 2022 performance and establish itself as a competitive force on the global stage.
