Qatar strongly disapproves of the Jabalia refugee camp massacre in Gaza
In an official announcement posted on their social media platform, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar strongly condemned the Israeli bombing of the Jabalia camp in Gaza. The airstrike resulted in the tragic deaths and injuries of numerous innocent people, including women and children. Qatar labeled it as a new massacre against the defenseless Palestinian population and urgently called on the international community to intervene swiftly and put an end to the relentless killing and devastation.
According to the statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a warning regarding the Israeli attacks on civilian targets in the Gaza Strip, which includes hospitals, schools, residential areas, and shelters for displaced individuals. These actions are seen as a perilous escalation in the ongoing confrontations, posing a threat to mediation and de-escalation efforts while foreshadowing increased tension, violence, and instability.
The Ministry is also urging the international community to fulfill its moral and legal obligations by providing protection to the Palestinian population and pressuring Israel to adhere to international law and humanitarian principles. Furthermore, the Ministry reaffirms Qatar's unwavering stance on the righteousness of the Palestinian cause, the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and the establishment of their independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
