Qatar Enters Third Phase of Summer as Al-Haq'ah Star Rises By Simran - July 03, 2026

Qatar has officially entered the third phase of its summer season with the rise of the Al-Haq'ah star on July 3, according to the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD). In traditional Arabic astronomy, Al-Haq'ah, meaning "the circle" or "the ring," marks one of the hottest and driest periods of the year. The phase will last for 13 days and is expected to bring intense heat, hot winds, and dusty conditions across the country.

During this period, the Indian monsoon low-pressure system dominates much of the Arabian Peninsula's atmosphere, contributing to frequent hot winds, dust storms, and soaring temperatures. QMD noted that this stage is considered one of the driest phases of the summer season, with residents advised to take precautions against extreme weather conditions.

Authorities recommend staying hydrated, limiting outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours, and following weather updates as temperatures continue to rise. The arrival of Al-Haq'ah also reflects Qatar's long-standing tradition of using star movements to mark seasonal changes and understand weather patterns.
