Qatar Condemns Renewed Attacks by Iran on Kuwait and Bahrain

Doha - Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) issued a strongly worded statement on July 20, 2026, condemning what it described as renewed attacks carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the territories of Kuwait and Bahrain.

In the statement, Doha characterized the attacks as a clear violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both Gulf nations, and said they amounted to a breach of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the principle of good neighborly relations between states.

The Ministry warned that the continuation of such attacks represents a serious escalation, one that risks complicating regional efforts to de-escalate tensions and could set back ongoing political and diplomatic initiatives aimed at restoring security and stability across the region.

Qatar called for an immediate and full halt to all military actions and attacks that threaten regional security, urging all parties involved to avoid any steps that could widen the scope of the conflict. The statement also pressed for a genuine return to dialogue and negotiation as the appropriate path forward, alongside continued adherence to any understandings previously reached through diplomatic channels.

In addition, MOFA reaffirmed Qatar's complete solidarity with both Kuwait and Bahrain, expressing support for whatever measures the two countries choose to take in order to protect their sovereignty and national security.
