Qatar China relations
Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Al Khulaifi, spoke over the phone with Zhai Jun, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government for Middle East affairs.
The call was made against the backdrop of the latest military escalation in the region and its impact on regional and global security.
The two officials discussed the latest developments and cautioned that continued tensions could jeopardize stability in the Middle East and beyond.
Both sides emphasized the need to explore diplomatic options and avenues for peaceful engagement in order to supervise ongoing disputes and avoid future escalation.
Al Khulaifi reiterated that the recent Iranian attacks on Qatari territory are firmly condemned by Qatar, stressing that such actions cannot be justified under any pretext.

He emphasised that Qatar has always tried to distance itself from regional conflicts and favoured diplomatic engagement to confrontation.
Doha is also firmly committed to encouraging dialogue, and has sought “to facilitate dialogue between the Iranian side and the international community”.
For his part, Zhai Jun reiterated Beijing’s support for stability in the Gulf region and expressed China’s solidarity with Qatar.
He demanded restraint from all parties and stressed the need to return to peaceful mechanisms of resolving disputes.
