Tunis, October 7, 2026 : Qatar Charity's office in Tunisia has signed a cooperation agreement with the Hedi Raies Institute of Ophthalmology in Tunis to carry out a health project providing cataract surgery for 100 beneficiaries, as part of efforts to support the health sector and facilitate access to specialized medical services.
The agreement was signed at the institute in the presence of Qatar's Ambassador to Tunisia, HE Zayed bin Saeed Al Khayareen, and Qatar Charity's Director of Development Operations, Ibrahim Abdulrahman Al Janahi.
Ambassador Al Khayareen said the agreement reflects Qatar's firm commitment to supporting Tunisia and strengthening health services for its citizens.
Al Janahi said the agreement is part of Qatar Charity's ongoing health programs in several countries, which include specialized interventions such as heart surgery and catheterization procedures, carried out in cooperation and coordination with official health institutions in the beneficiary countries.
Dr. Rim Faqih, Director of the Hedi Raies Institute of Ophthalmology, said the agreement will help develop the institute's services and ease the burden on patients who cannot afford the cost of surgical treatment.
