Qatar Charity Reaches More Than 10 Million People Across 44 Countries in Seven Months

Doha, Qatar: Qatar Charity (QC) provided humanitarian and development assistance to more than 10 million people across 44 countries during the first seven months of 2026, with projects and interventions valued at approximately QAR 809 million. The initiatives were supported by donations from individuals and organizations in Qatar.

According to Qatar Charity, its humanitarian and emergency relief activities accounted for more than QAR 236 million, reaching around 5.8 million beneficiaries in 31 countries. Assistance was directed toward communities affected by major humanitarian crises, including those in Gaza, Sudan, Yemen, Somalia and Syria. Support was also provided to refugees, displaced people and communities affected by less-visible emergencies, including the Rohingya refugee crisis.

Strengthening Humanitarian Response

As part of efforts to improve its emergency response capabilities, Qatar Charity launched a specialized Information and Crisis Management Center. The center is designed to strengthen early-warning systems and support faster, more effective decision-making during humanitarian emergencies.

Alongside emergency assistance, the organization continued to expand its long-term development work. Between January and the end of July 2026, Qatar Charity implemented 11,114 development projects across 44 countries, valued at approximately QAR 573 million and benefiting more than 4.2 million people.

The projects covered several priority areas, including water and sanitation, healthcare, education and culture, economic empowerment, food security and social welfare. Qatar Charity said particular attention was given to projects that could be implemented quickly while also delivering sustainable benefits to local communities.

More Than 225,000 People Supported Through Rofaqa

Qatar Charity also reported continued growth in its Rofaqa social welfare initiative, which now supports more than 225,000 people. Beneficiaries include orphans, vulnerable families, students and people with disabilities. The initiative provides support in areas such as livelihoods, education and personal development.

Among Rofaqa's programmes is Furqan, which provides Quran and Arabic-language education, particularly for sponsored children living in non-Arabic-speaking countries. It also includes educational, cultural and skills-development activities aimed at supporting children's broader personal development.

Qatar Charity has additionally introduced a dedicated international category for Rofaqa beneficiaries within the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Holy Quran Competition.

The figures highlight the scale of Qatar Charity's humanitarian and development operations during the first seven months of 2026, combining emergency assistance with longer-term projects designed to support vulnerable communities around the world.
