Qatar Cabinet
The weekly Cabinet meeting was chaired by H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs on 15th April 2026 at the Amiri Diwan.
The Cabinet also approved a draft law issuing the unified system (law) of voluntary work in GCC states, and referred it to the Shura Council.
The proposed law, which was prepared at the Ministry of Social Development and Family's request, would constitute a new legal framework that strengthens social responsibility and promotes a culture of volunteerism in society, all while operating within an institutional context regulating voluntary work as long as it is conducted freely and with respect to the rights of both volunteers and host organisations, whilst defining their obligations towards each other contributing to sustainable social impact; this comes in line with one of Qatarโs Arab Vision 2030โs four pillars โ that is social development โ along with the objectives laid by Third National Development Strategy (2024โ2030), wherein we seek to strengthen social cohesion and increase rates of volunteerism.
